Script to Screen: Next Door Films’ “Almost Real”

Script to Screen - Almost Real

In honor of the continued roll-out for the 4-part Next Door Films feature “Almost Real”, we want to kick off a new series here on the blog!  It may come as a surprise, but almost everything we produce here on ASGmax has a script.  The seed of a concept that rolls out over 3 to 5 pages of text and instruction and intention.  We thought it might be fun to share the raw scripts with you to read through and compare to the final product.   How are the writer’s intentions executed within the reality of a shoot day?  Which lines change?  Which locations are moved, which scenes are scrapped, which moments become more than the writing would imply?

Almost Real script on-set

To kick this off, we’re going to share scripts for part 1 and 2 of Almost Real.  If people find it fun, we’ll share part 3 and 4 in the weeks to come.   Beyond that, we’d love to know if you’d like to look back at older scenes and share the scripts for those?  Anything you’d love to see how the planning might have differed from the execution?  This new Script To Screen series is that chance!

The boys on-set doing a run-through.

Let us know in the comments what you think!

And don’t forget to check out our previous On The Set post for Almost Real, too!

I really love this idea of being able to see the behind-the-scenes scripts. It’s so creative, and I feel like people will connect with it much more.

I really enjoy seeing the behind-the-scenes scripts. Could you compare and contrast a script from a Member Fantasy scene and how you executed it?

absolutely. I know we’ve done a few of yours. If you have specific ones, I’d love to dig into that!

I guess the most recent one with Vincent Grey/Kane Fox, Homebound Heat. I can’t wait to see other future ideas.

I enjoyed reading it. I like the way you have Nico walking around naked and showing his soft dick. I am a retired senior living in a Gay retirement home in Portland Oregon and enjoy reading also.

Great idea! As a screenwriter myself, this feature is right up my alley. And I would love to read the scripts for older scenes, too, not just the most recent ones. Thanks!

Toss out some names! I can probably dig up most scripts going back 5-6 years.

Honestly, this is just as interesting as the scenes. It’s like a proper BTS.
