In a few short years, Derek Kage has become an icon in our industry. Claiming accolades from various award shows around the globe. It’s no wonder why he was tasked with heading up the latest feature film from ASGmax Originals! Hall Pass tells the story of a couple (JC Hunt and Derek Kage) whose sex life is starting to get a little stale. They decide to mix things up a little bit and open up their relationship! With the freedom to hook up with whoever they both want, they both set their sights on their straight friend Kyle Wyncrest.
We had a fun chat with Derek to discuss his work on this latest big ASGmax Films release.
You’re no stranger to our big NDS/ASG/Disruptive Films projects, having been a main character in our Goldenrod Resort series, but this series goes a step further, having you as a central lead. What was it like to play such a central role in a trio of films like this?
I have always loved being on sets for ASGMax. The mood was lighthearted and both cast and crew knew we were capable of making a great movie. Playing the central role in a trio of films was challenging given the sheer amount of screen time, but everyone on set made it easy for me to perform to my absolute best abilities. I’m grateful for everyone that was there.
You have such great on-screen chemistry with both Kyle Wyncrest and JC Hunt. Can you tell us what it was like to get to work with both of those guys on that project?
Oh man did I ever have chemistry with both Kyle and JC! JC and I immediately hit it off as soon as we saw each other. We actually had to contain ourselves so we didn’t get too riled up for when the cameras began rolling on our actual sex scene. Kyle was a little more reserved, but we knew the chemistry was there. Once the cameras began rolling for our sex scene we couldn’t keep our hands (and other appendages) off of each other.
How was it working with the ASGmax team on this? Walden Woods directing, Conrad Parker and Big Mike manning the cameras and capturing the magic.
I’ve known Walden, Big Mike, and Conrad for quite some time now. There is nothing but love when all three of those guys are on set. Walden and I have a very unique relationship where we can be so sarcastic to each other, but it just shows how strong our friendship is. Big Mike and Conrad have always kept a relaxed vibe on set so it is all the perfect mix of personalities and professionalism.
We really pushed your acting to the MAX pretending you were a nervous new bottom. How was that on set pretending your booty was virgin territory?
To pretend I never had anything in my ass before was probably some of the best acting I’ve done in a while, but I feel I pulled it off. Credit where credit is due: JC would make any bottom have to take a few deep breaths to get going. I was able to play off of his size to react the way I needed to. He made it quite easy to act like I had never had anything inside my butt before.
I would love to see the blooper reel because those I know we had quite a few moments that were hilarious and caught on camera.
How did you relate to some of the themes of this film? From the expanding of gay relationship boundaries and dynamics, to experimenting with a ‘straight’ curious friend, or even just hanging out with a buddy and having a little casual sexy fun?
I have been in just about every kind of relationship and even been in one where we attempted to navigate having threesomes and how it made us feel. I actually loved how in this movie JC is very accepting and supportive of me playing with another guy to gain experience. I also loved how he was so excited to hear about it afterwards! It’s that kind of love and support that I hope people exploring things can incorporate into their own relationships.
Let’s wrap it up. Can you give us your broad thoughts for working on a big project like this for ASGmax?
The ASGmax family has been very good to me and I hope I have been very good to them as well as the fans of ASGmax. I obviously love working with this studio, but the highlight for me is knowing that I’m giving the fans entertainment. I love these big projects because I love creating a story for the fans as well as numerous opportunities to make them cum!
