Profile: Micah Martinez

Micah Martinez isn’t new to the industry. He’s done it all over the last 8.5 years. From modeling, directing, editing, directing, running analytics, compliance – you name it, he’s done it. Now, Martinez’s focused on Pride. The brand is going through a refresh, and Martinez is at the helm of its creative direction.

What brought you to being the Writer/Director of the new Pride content?

I love the creative aspect of being able to direct and write. Being on set with the talent and finding new ways to bring sexy ideas to light is a huge passion of mine. There are so many ways to create and even “re-live” a hot scenario. I refuse to let it be the same things myself and others have seen 100 times.

Explain each of the 3 Pride (sub)brands. Tell us which is your favorite and why?

FamilyCreep is our fauxcest site with a family member acting a bit “out of sorts” in a fun scenario that goes beyond “step-bro what are you doing stuck in the dryer”. 

MenOver30 is our site that proves that just because you’re over 30 does not at all drop you into being a daddy or bear or silver fox. There is an ENTIRE spectrum of hotness of men above the age of 29 that we get to explore with some real world scenarios. 

Extra Big Dick’s premise is simple–huge dicks railing small holes which of course is a hot time. 

My favorite is a tough one. They each have something specific and fun that they bring to the table for shoot day and different things that they are trying to emulate. I think, however, if I had to choose… I’d say Pride Studios is my favorite to shoot 😉 wink wink nudge nudge.

What aspects of the brand refresh excite you the most?

I’m most excited to see Pride be in a new area of the country with a completely new talent pool and shooting style. Sometimes to bring new life into something, all it takes is for something to be “different.” Pride as it was is such a long standing and fun property, but now with new sets, models, locations, scripts it will be that little bit of “difference” that makes people notice and want even more of it!

Please tell me about the type of content we can expect from Pride?

Pride is a fun mosh pit of established long term talent, fan favorites, newbies, and people coming back to the industry. As a director it has been fun working with so many different people of different experience levels as we started shooting towards the beginning of the year. Fans are going to see their favorites like Roman Todd who’s been on the network before but also models new to ASGmax as a whole like Taylor Reign who’s new to ASGmax, but is by no means a rookie in this industry. We also have some people who have been around on the newer side or under contract for a long while but are now free agents like Eddie Patrick who has been an absolute JOY to work with. 

How did your experience in other areas of the industry prepare you to be the right creative force to help refresh this brand?

Being everywhere, doing everything, and being able to think on my toes at all times has beyond prepared me for this. With Pride, I have been able to build up new ideas for these sub brands with the truly integral help of Jeremy Babcock to make something fun. The sites have existed for YEARS, and I did not want to do them a disservice to people who enjoyed the previous content. But having known the content prior and also having a completely different shooting, lighting and directing style, I believe that is the type of revitalization that the site needs from learning from so many other amazing directors and crews in this industry.

Explain some of the challenges and successes you’ve found in updating/refreshing an existing brand.

My biggest challenge for sure has been creating something “new” from something that already has existed. I am not in the business of stepping on toes or throwing out concepts that work just because I am the head honcho of something, but I am for sure interested in seeing some of the shortcomings of something, fixing them, and then letting them thrive and honing them as it grows. In terms of successes… I’m not going to lie, the content is hot and I’m super excited to share it with everybody!

As Writer and Concept developer, which scenes so far stand out for you in terms of creativity?  Which are you most excited about?

I’m not going to spoil too much, but there’s a scene where a top puts his cock AND balls inside of a bottoms ass… and then fucks him. I WISH I could claim that as all my idea but the top in question is a madman who I love working with. In terms of scripts, I have been very happy taking the idea of a more taboo idea like fucking your boss and making it so that it is not just hot but also interesting, establishing a clear flip in a power dynamic and really running with it. 

As Director, which upcoming pieces of content are you really excited for people to see?

So a big fetish of mine in real life is cruising and by God do we have a fun cruising scene with Derek Kage and Nicholas Ryder to share with you all

When people see this new Pride content, what kind of audience reactions are you hoping to see?

My biggest hope is that when people see the new content, they are refreshed. I want that “ahh finally something new!” that I think some people have been (vocally) dying for. That and also them having lube and a bunch of napkins close by is literally always my goal for shoots.
