The filming of Disruptive Films’ upcoming feature Honeyguide was an experience upon itself. There’s always excitement when making a porno, but producing a film that takes porn on the next level is even more thrilling. From ghosts to a naked dance solo, we got the lowdown on the behind the scenes action from one of the movies’ directors, Jessica Jasmin.
First of all, I have to say that we were given a beast of a script by Taylor Saracen. Our goal was to make a movie reminiscent of Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn. We wanted to push the eroticism of the feature film to a new level, and I think we did that. That being said, the script was difficult to produce. Time is the enemy on a big project like this and we had to make plenty of on-the-spot decisions while time ran down. We had to make pivots, but they all worked out well.
Bringing the script to life with actors and location is the fun part. When casting, we were looking for a little weirdo for the lead. Hoss Kado’s past performance on Disruptive stuck out to me and I knew he was perfect for this role. I met Kam Stone at the AVN Expo in January and he had the cool, laid back vibe that we needed for Oliver’s foil, he was Brooks. He embodies the character. Hoss and Kam are physically opposite of each other and that’s visually interesting.
We were blown away by Hoss’s talent and how far he took the character. The last scene of the movie is amazing. We can’t wait for you to see it. Daphne, one of the PAs and a DJ, blasted “Murder on the Dancefloor” by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. We wanted to recreate that iconic Saltburn moment. We let Hoss dance it out. Michael was on steadicam following his movement from downstairs to upstairs. It was mostly a shot one take. It was beautiful to watch. Hoss got lost in the music and Michael’s camera work perfectly captured every move.
Our location was incredible, but there were moments that it felt otherworldly…and not in a good way! The last day of shooting, Siouxsie and I were sitting on the couch, looking at the monitors. All of a sudden, one of the pillows next to us launched off of the the couch like it had been thrown by someone. No one was near us, and we didn’t make enough movement to make it fall like it did.
