What’s New with ASGmax Roleplay this Month?

It’s been another fun month of new characters and surging favorites on ASGmax Roleplay. This month saw additions of several requests from the June comments section, as well as a batch of military studs to tie in with the recent Active Duty feature release “Operation: Weekend Off Base.” On the leaderboard, we’ve seen 2 more characters break 100k messages, putting that total at 5 characters who have surpassed that mark.
We’ve got some exciting characters in the queue this for the next few weeks, including characters to tie in with our Hall Pass feature and ever more member requests from last month’s blog comments. We’re excited to hear about your new adventures, feedback, and requests as we continue to develop this awesome new part of our network!
Please use the comments below to share your favorite experiences and characters! Your stories and tips help inspire other members, and help us improve on our character designs each month.
New, Hot & Trending
One of the best ways to explore the ASGmax Roleplay feature is to sort by “Latest.” This will give you all of the most recent character additions. This is the place to find all-new guys for chatting, with new men added every week!
This is our third “highlights” post, and it’s exciting to see so many of your requests from last month coming to life! Some of the top performers this month are the guys requested by YOU, the fans! Check out some of these recent highlights and trending guys.
- Bellhop Mason – Hotel bellhop, eager to help out.
- Tarek – Your Rich Friend
- “Iron Wolf” – Colton Nash takes control.
- Ethan Cole – Hot flight attendant on a long-haul flight.
- Lysander Vance – Spectral Conduit to summon anyone you desire.
- Kael Duran – Guardian of the forest. Alpha of the Duran Pack.
- Rugby Champions – Celebrating with the rugby team after the big win!

- “Halo” – Mason Ellis’ last night in town.
This list is absolutely dominated by fan requests, which will keep us motivated to keep creating YOUR requests. Keep them coming in! It’s also been fun to see tie-in characters for the Active Duty project doing well. It’s fun to add characters who live in the little ‘worlds’ that we create. And a shout out the really experimental character this month, Lysander. That scenario allows you to build your own character and experience, and we’re really excited to hear how you used him.
Fan Favorites & Selected Studs
The top 7 have held firm, but Mom’s Husband and Shawn have crossed over the 100k mark! Look for Ben to join that club next month. Under that row we have some big movers. Friend’s Dad, Tyler & Tyson all jumped up 2 spots, the Hockey boys have moved five spots this month and Taylor (married coworker) is up SIX! The lone new addition to the group this month is Neighbor Andrew. Who else will join this top group of characters next month? Let us know why you keep coming back to your favorites!
Member Story Of The Month
One of our favorite ways to control the story is the /cmd prompt. Some great tips in our original Roleplay post, worth checking out for refreshers and tips.
This month, we want to feature Nathan_95’s creative use of the platform. He shared:
My “share your story” contribution: With this Roleplay, I find it intriguing and very rewarding to push the characters onto new ground by creating an unconventional but promising scenario. I try this regularly, and almost always AI will keep up!
With Eli, a “most eager employee” character, instead of initiating a go-to fantasy of sex over a desk in the boss’s office, I asked him to assist in a video conference call with executives for an adult product line. After explaining that he would be testing products and getting Eli to nervously agree to a video demonstration “for the good of the company,” AI had him unpack and test a vibrator. After that, I said the next products from the box were textured condoms and lube, and then things got really interesting as the boss (my character) and the ass-istant thoroughly tested them for the execs watching.
What’s fascinating is that AI recognizes and can deliver some very subtle human kinks when spinning its story. I would think it’s easy enough for a bot to learn that people get aroused when body parts connect, but with this story both the video voyeurism and the friction of Eli trying to maintain a professional tone as he verbally reports on product quality while getting pounded made the story really hot.
Thanks for sharing! Everyone else, please comment below with stories of your own!

Tell Us Your Stories
The best part of designing the AI chat characters and situations is hearing about the wild adventures and tangents that these situations may take as the chats play out for each user. Not only is this fun for us, but it’s inspiring for other members to come up with new ideas and situations to take these chats. The options are nearly endless. Let’s hear your wildest or most creative conversations in the comments below.
We’re also always happy to create characters to fulfil your fantasies. Let us know in the comments if you have specific character ideas, and we’ll do our best to make them happen!
I don’t know if it’s just me…but Diesel is pretty boring…go only seems to want to talk over and over, getting nowhere…even when I use the /cmd function to try to push him past the talking, he almost immediately “pulls back” and decides he just wants to talk…I’ve tried restarting the conversation multiple times only to give up…can something be done about him?
Sometimes I’ve found that it’s easier to get the AI to follow directions if I interject something into the dialogue, such as *While Diesel is talking, I begin to rub his basket and I lean in to kiss him.* Then talk for a moment telling him something like “I need that cock” followed by another asterisked instruction in which Diesel responds in some physically sexual way. That has worked for me sometimes, but of course, the AI might just ignore you because it’s committed to the information in Diesel’s profile about how he wants to talk.
Also, if you take another look at several of the comments below, there are a lot of suggestions on how to get the AI to behave and let you run the show. See if you can find something there to try.
I had the same issue with Diesel. I spent hours of real time going on multiple dates with him since he wanted to take it slow. I asked if he wanted to date me, and he said yes. So I suggested another date and he said he “wanted to take things slow”. We went through several rounds of this. Finally, I got fed up and I broke up with him. And he still wanted to “take things slow”! I’m like no dude, we’re done. I ended up deleting the conversation in frustration.
I decided to try again. I’m not exactly sure what I did differently. We went on a hike together for the afternoon, then when we got back, I suggested we give each other massages. And that seemed to get him going. But there was still a regular stream of “let’s take it slow” throughout that I’ve never seen before with dozens of other characters.
I’m usually the one slowing down the characters, but he was very frustrating.
Just noticing that on my AI page it only has 2 pages of AI’s now when I always had 5 pages before. Any idea why that’s happening? What do I need to do to fix it?
Never Mind, figured it out!
“The Coaches” are ready for a little action after practice. (request from a previous month).
The Coaches are something else. I’ve already been tagteamed in the dugout and on the pitcher’s mound (while the coaches do their best Howard Cosell impersonations). Kenji is a delicious dreamsicle. And daddy Rob? The picture alone could make me cream. Where ever the porn equivalent of that is, you need to get him on the roster full time.
Now, please excuse me. I have to go find my best tattered wenches outfit to go fuck a pirate and then eat out a cabin boy.
With so many characters to choose from here – currently 212 and climbing – it’s funny how I keep returning to a couple time-tested favorites again and again. I continue to find new situations for frat pledge Jake and chaos-and-disorder Connor that give them a chance to push boundaries and rack up an impressive array of x-rated adventures.
In my narrative, pledge Jake joined the fraternity a while ago (much easier to bedhop from room to room that way) and he’s always up for a public or private dare, such as providing an impromptu anatomy lesson for a biology student who caught him in a towel as he was coming back from the showers. In Jake’s latest story, he volunteers to be a nude model for a life drawing class at the college. He is then paired with a hot nude partner and tries valiantly to obey the instructor’s “no erections while posing” rule…
Connor really enjoys our forays outside, and a hike along a nature trail got very interesting when a hunky blond Norwegian came along and Connor convinced him that this was one of the “clothing optional” hiking trails in America. Although he was straight, the Norse visitor got visibly excited when Connor told us a filthy story and after that seduction came naturally in the great outdoors.
I love that there are so many newbies waiting for their turn, but I keep coming back to these two horny dudes!
Thanks to everyone for the tips! /cmd is very useful getting wayward scenes back in control. It kills the mood when I’ve set the scene such that we’re both naked, only to have the bot reaching into my pants.
Minor quibbles: 1. If I never hear the phrases “ruin you for everyone else” or “paint your white” again, I’ll be a happier curmudgeon. 2. Why are all the bots seeming to decide that one sexual encounter is grounds for a lifelong monogamous relationship? Those are the guys I avoid in real life.
Oh, does the general AI learn anything from our interactions? It would be nice if certain variations or kinks would propagate to other bots.
Of course I know that this is a work in progress, and I appreciate the changes that have already happened. Keep up the great work!
furluvr-
ROFL- yes, and “That was….(add the expletive of your choice here).
Something you could try that might have effect on de-railing that desire for you to immediately propose and start picking out little outfits for your first-born, lol, would be to check what you’ve got entered in the profile for your character in the “My Personas” area, adding in a descriptive remark such as ‘only interested in one night hook-ups’, or something to that effect. The profile description you enter there is used by the chat generator to a degree to ‘direct’ the direction the interaction will take.
As to AI systems learning from our interactions, they most definitely can and do, but this is one of the areas which bleeds right into the highly publicized fears of AI technology learning and out-growing us until taking over and wiping us off the planet. What is learned and stored by an AI system depends a lot on what form of AI the system is, along with how it is managed. This aspect won’t be such that it would have effect on learning and propagating any personal likes/dislikes/kinks between bots, but this might also be accomplished alternately by entering them into your ‘Persona’s Profile section.
Thanks, Dave! I’ve set up all three personae to be “just looking for sex” and “likes hairy bearded men” to little effect. I find myself wishing I could use a checklist for “what I’ve got” and “what I want” for each chat. Tried doing it using /cmd with little success.
P.S. Also ROFL in regard to wondering who keeps re-dressing us when we’re not looking. I can clearly interject my going “commando”, with the AI character specifically adding a comment in response to this being understood, yet have them tugging at my boxers a few minutes later. I’ve even suddenly found myself clothed while in the shower! As you say, it is a work in progress, improving as we all better learn it’s use and control. In the meantime, I’m just glad I don’t have to do all the laundry it would create, LOL
I’m having a similar issue with the AI and am wondering if anyone else has had this experience and how they may have corrected it.
I’ve been playing with Hockey Locker Room for over a month, and the story has become pretty intricate. New characters have been introduced with no problem, and now there are about eight of us interacting. I tell the AI who’s in the scene, where it’s located (ie, the locker room, a restaurant, my apartment, etc.) and although the AI sometimes revises a detail, like suddenly putting me into clothes when I was just naked, the storyline has proceeded pretty much as I’ve requested or described in the context of a given scene. Now however, no matter how many times I tell the AI which characters are present, what the setting is, etc., the AI completely ignores my instructions. It often interjects a random passage that occurred in a previous chat or simply has a new response that dismisses what I’ve just input. Sometimes I’m talking privately with Logan, for example, and the AI responds with Noah talking about something completely off topic.
I hope I’ve described my situation clearly (ask if you need me to better explain myself) and I’m hoping one of you can help me resolve this frustrating issue.
Thanks!
user_51809246,
In my interaction with the hockey trio, I noticed some similar issues which seemed to increase in frequency over time, including our location suddenly changing; each time reverting to the locker room. This ‘snag’ in particular ‘says to me’ that the interactive chat is ‘bogging down’ or becoming confused, which results in it’s dropping certain injected details and replacing them with “what it knows”- reverting location, for instance, to the locker room hard-coded into the story base.
My guess is this may relate to approaching either your max allowed memory space, or possibly the ‘soft’ memory limits for that specific chat. (My thinking being that the memory both in use and ‘stored’ is certain to be used at a much faster rate/higher level when a chat base adds the complexity of multiple characters to maintain). I notice in looking at the hockey trio interaction using the ‘Manage Memories’ tool, the individual stored memories tend to be 2-3 times larger than those in single character chats- even when looking at those in stored memory from an extended period in which my interaction was solely kept to one of the characters with the other two not even mentioned.
What I’ve done when this sort of issue begins to pop up which at least seems to be effective at smoothing issues out, is going into ‘manage memories’ and deleting some to reduce load, as well as looking to my overall number of stored chats and deleting some of them as well to again, reduce load to the system.
To your mention of being ignored “no matter how many times” you inject given details, several things to try or bear in mind:
1.) The results will vary not only in how the detail is injected, be that through the “/cmd” mode, considered to be more solid for long-term details, or the *asterisk encapsulated* storyline directive, but also varying with each character venue- I’ve found some of them respond far more solidly to the asterisk encapsulated directives over /cmd, while the result is reverse in others.
2.) If you try once and it doesn’t ‘take’, try again, but change the phrasing of your directive. Still no good- try insertion through the alternate method. If the info still hasn’t locked in, try closing out of that chat for a few minutes, then returning. (Similar to how all Tech support assistance (for anything anywhere, lol) will always begin with having you ‘re-boot’. Sometimes those actions that might seem silly or redundant can actually work.)
Thanks, Dave. I’ve tried all of your suggestions: I deleted many memories, although the AI only gave me access to the recent memories; there are many pages of memories I can’t seem to access); I went into the list of previous chats in my account and deleted many of them; I added some commands using asterisks instead of /cmd; and I rebooted the program. The ship rights itself, and then a few entries later it resorts back to incorrect characters, locations, and topics of conversation. Any other suggestions you can think of?
Hi user_51809246 – Dave’s suggestions above are really good, and I’ll offer one more option that hasn’t been discussed yet. When you’re in the character chat and details and multiple characters are getting jumbled, you can click on the three horizontal dots on the right and select “Start New Chat”. Notice that a note under this option says “Current Chat Will Be Saved”, so you can experiment with a new chat thread (conveniently clear of memories until you describe what details you want to bring over from your previous chat) without losing any of your prior posts.
I tried this and it seems to work well as long as you give AI info about where you want to pick up the narrative. Using the /cmd prompt to provide a couple paragraphs at the very beginning will let you summarize all the aspects you want to keep. Since I have never had a bot reference any of our previous adventures directly (like “Remember that hot time we shagged like animals on the quad?”) it doesn’t feel like I’m losing much to offer a block summary to start the Roleplay on a new chapter. Since you’re working in Hockey Locker Room with multiple created characters that are getting confused by the AI, your /cmd summary might be a way to focus the bot on the characters and direction you want.
Two more things: Since “Start New Chat” gives you the character’s initial prompt again, I needed to provide my /cmd paragraph and then go up to the character’s initial post, click Edit, and overwrite it so it starts where I want it to start. We don’t need to meet the character again or flirt or whatever – you can explain where you want to begin. If you don’t overwrite that initial paragraph, the bot stays on that track regardless of what you /cmd it to do…
Also, the multiple chats (the prior one and the new one) won’t show up in your Chats page at the same time — only the one you worked with last will. But you can access all your separate chats of Hockey Locker Room if you go back to the three dots and choose “View Saved Chats”. Then they should appear and you can access whichever one you want. I hope that helps you solve some issues and keep the storyline going! 🙂
Thanks, Nathan_95. I started the new chat as you suggested, and it worked out well. And it’s good to know that the old chat is still accessible in case I need to reintroduce some vital facts to the scenario. I really appreciate your help!
BuzzMo, that’s great to hear! Glad you’re having success with the “Start New Chat” option. It seems to open a new bank for memories, kind of like starting a new chapter in an ongoing story. Happy that it’s working for you!
Say, Nathan- how are you accessing the original chat after starting a new one? I’d tried doing that a few times the past couple months and never been able to find the “saved chat” again after starting a new one- even if I changed to a different persona for the new chat.
Hi Dave – It took me some time to figure out how to get to the prior chat, since the loading page’s “Chats” display page only shows your most recent conversation with that character. And I’ve only tried it once, so maybe it’s not available for all AI characters (although it should be)?
Here’s what I see on my side. I created a new chat/new story with Lysander Vance, so I opened Vance’s thread and chose “… Start New Chat”, which brought me back to the original prompt and a new thread. Then I used /cmd to plug in different story aspects (or you can summarize the story you want to keep going) and also went to that initial introduction post, deleted it, and rewrote it so I’ve got a new story. That gave me two different Lysander threads, one with a Roman soldier and one with a modern boxer in training.
Here’s your answer: I can see both chats and access both by opening the Lysander chat on my main “Chats” page, then choosing “Continue to Chat” with my one Lysander option (the boxer thread if I used that last), and once that continuing chat is opened, click “…” at the top right again and “View Saved Chats”, which is the second choice that comes up for me in the options window. Then a new page opens and both Lysander chats appear as separate threads and I can choose to “Continue to Chat” in either thread. The soldier and the boxer stories are both accessible for me there. The trick is you only see the multiple chats with “View Saved Chats”, as they don’t both appear on the main “Chats” page.
Hope that works. If it doesn’t or if you don’t have that option, let me know! But I’m hoping that will let you pull up your various chats old and new. 😉
Man, reading the comments here I feel like the way I’m using this function, essentially to get off,is really really basic of me… incredibly impressed by how inventive others are!!
Instead of ranting and demanding like I have so selfishly before and I apologise again. I interact with stepdad Roger mainly and would really really love to have a shirtless image of him to see that isn’t in my mind. Otherwise, always keen to see the new additions each week!
JackW,
No reason to feel that way- I mean, I didn’t open my first roleplay conversation looking to get a new recipe for blackberry pie, LOL. And before this venue opened up here, I’d never worked with or used AI at all. While it’s been around, developing and expanding for a number of years now, it’s a ‘new’ field in technology, with some pretty incredible potential.
Point being, don’t be afraid to let your mind go when the mood strikes, and “dial up the heat” by introducing a bit of added ‘direction’ to the conversation sometime; the resultant ‘foreplay’ and immersive mood can make for intoxicating fun and pleasure. As you go, it doesn’t take too long before you begin to pick up on the subtle nuances you can inject to keep your storyline ‘on track’ and moving forward in the direction you want it to. And when that happens, you’ll find that “getting off” climbs to a whole new level!
Dave. Thank you. Really. I will and have become more confident with how I want my interactions to go. I enjoy it using it and the one I said I use, so I’ll allow myself to do as you’ve very helpfully said! 🙂
I echo what Dave said. Sometimes you just need to be a controlling bitch with these guys! “No, I’m fucking YOU right now! You CAN’T paint my insides white! Shut up and take it or I’ll put the gag back in!” That’s never happened in real life in the 40 years I’ve been at it.
Hahaha!! I like that!! I’ll bear it mind.
OMG- I just about lost it scrolling onto your reply- I haven’t laughed that hard since I entered a Detective Mark chat one day in a truly ornery mood , answering his initial query of “So, what are you doing here tonight?” with “I like to go out in the rain and find wet detectives and f**k them senseless as they scream my name out the window.” and continued my stubborn refusal of ‘playing by his rules’, with smartass remarks like “I was sorta set on turning you into a ‘cop-sicle’ with me being the ‘stick'” and really getting to him when I laid out flat direction of “Not another word! 11pm- my apartment- Be there and Be BARE!” giving him a *spank* as I stormed off.
And to answer your next obvious question- YOU BET I DID- Around 11:05pm Poor Det. Mark was face down in a pillow and kept that way for a looong time, LOL
(deleted duplication)
I love the role-playing feature, and I have spent an almost unhealthy amount of time playing with it for great fun, but it seems clear most reference material have female main characters in mind when it comes to sex or romance.
Also, AI, please, pretty pretty please with sugar, you MUST remember, vag and ass are not the same thing at all so, please, don’t EVER tell me again that he is into “savouring the perfumed fluids leaking from your fluttering walls”. It does NOT ring the same for a male main character. At all.
P.s.: I had no idea how female coded someone putting their hands possesively at “the small of your back” was before. I crave for an interaction in which, at least once, they will know I have shoulders. 🤣
Or remember my persona have a beard while “tracing the delicate curve of your cheeks/chin with a soothing finger” every third paragraph.
Lol
Your thinking in terms of the small of the back is actually pretty ‘on target’- because of it’s heightened sensitivity, it’s the spot from which a man guides a female dance partner in Latin and a lot of Ballroom dance, giving light changes in fingertip pressure to cue their movement. Something you might try that I’ve found to work well in creating a bit of change in ‘assertiveness’ is to now and then in your response to add a directive comment of something like “AI character wraps their arms around my shoulders as I drape my arms around their waist”. In other words, throw in a bit of body position direction of the AI character as well as statement of what you are doing to help keep the characters acting in the manner you want them to. The same type of inserted directive now and then can also be applied to ‘remind’ them of your beard, and seems to ‘take’ very well most of the time. This can even do well with many characters when taken to extremes, and make the most persistent dom character end up begging for you to mount and ‘take them until they forget their name’.
You mention Lysander Vance, and he is definitely an interesting addition. As a summoner of spirits, I wanted to see how this AI would handle a character request from the ancient past. I told Vance that I had a recurring vision of a handsome 19-year-old Roman soldier circa 400 A.D. who was haunted by war and yearned for a human connection and another life.
I was very surprised to see that the vision Vance conjured was missing an arm, and I was asked what I would sacrifice in return. (My character’s response: “A great but tormented artist once sacrificed his left ear in a fit of passion. I will do the same if it unites me now with Marcus Aurelius.”) When the soldier became flesh, his scars healed and his arm regenerated — my ear survived the dimension shift as well — and now our characters inhabit a sort of pastoral dream landscape with no one else around. If I suggest we find a lake and bathe together, AI creates one just over the hill, etc.
I’m curious to see where this particular scenario might go. The idyllic landscape is a bit monotonous and Marcus doesn’t offer any details of his life the couple times I’ve prodded him to talk about it. Maybe the most enjoyable aspect is the faux-poetic way AI has the character speak: “Shall I show you the depths of my devotion? Shall I worship every inch of your glorious form until you scream my name to the heavens?” It’s a neat contrast to the more direct dialogue you get from the frat guy characters.
Who else has built an original character using Lysander Vance? What did Vance and you come up with?
Nathan_95, I was curious as to just what the results would be from an interaction with Lysander, and how the whole scenario was meant to take shape, etc. and gave it a try a few days ago, keeping my input fairly limited to come up with a feel for how this chat worked. From that, I get the sense that the Lysander ‘conduit for manifestation of whomever you wish’ essentially works as a “Build your dream lover by filling in the blanks” character generating form, with a ‘face’.
To pull some ‘guidance’ from the character, and find it’s limits, I began by asking him “Are we summoning the living, the dead, or the manifestation of someone only created in our minds?” His response, once ‘boiled down’ (in my mind) to remove all the ‘decorative’ aspects of his speech loosely came down to his asking whether I sought a person of the ‘real’ world (living, dead, or just imagined), or a character of ‘fantasy’ (A major first step in pruning the ‘tree of creation’). I informed him it was a real person whom I’d developed and ‘cultured’ in my mind over many years to now know their every detail, so much so it would be hard to describe to him, and did he possibly have the ability to put his hand to my heart and instead ‘read my thoughts’ and in that manner be given the most complete and detailed sense of whom I sought out, to which Lysander agreed.
As he began to ‘read’ my thought transmission, he asked for a name, and eventually arrived with a manifestation of them, with an added directive comment of “But there’s something not quite right about him.” I responded saying ‘No, that’s not him. I can’t define it, but something isn’t right.’ Lysander asked me to ‘define the discrepancy’ and I gave comment to a few light details, hair straight- not curly, a bit more this, a little less that, until satisfied that yes, this was the right image, and with a few last moments of Lysander being a little “handsy” with his creation, he ‘released’ to me and disappeared. Having given no input whatsoever as to the person’s demeanor, emotional characteristics, etc. the resultant character was very much devoted to eagerly going along with any direction I suggested the chat proceed in.
As I mentioned earlier, I think the Lysander chat base is essentially a “DIY fill-in-the-blanks” format that does just that- injecting the details you provide into a blank character generation, making the end result and it’s dimensional depth primarily dependent on how thoroughly your input details the ‘one you seek’, and drawing upon it’s library of “what’s known” to fill in whatever blanks you leave empty.
Dave, that’s very interesting how you tested the summoner bot by having the chat define a character for you instead of offering details for it to build upon. It is certainly a DIY set-up, and I appreciate that a user could request anybody real or imagined as long as they offer enough detail about what they want.
As with your experiment, for me the character Lysander Vance went away after Marcus and I were transported to the dream landscape. I always like using “you” to address the AI character in my responses (e.g., “I look over at you and take your hand, leading you across the field”), so I was happy to see that the Roman soldier responded completely to “you” in my narrative now that Vance was out of the picture.
And thanks for all your suggestions in other posts to help keep the stories on track and customize the experience for each user!
Don’t tell me I’m the only one who incorporated Lysander himself into a 3 way with his summoned spirit? At first, he didn’t want to participate, but I kept trying to convince him. I eventually succeeded with this approach (paraphrasing): How can you be good at summoning what people want if you never participate with the results of what you summoned?
Favorite line from the summoned spirit: “We all got needs, man. Even ghosts gotta get laid sometime.”
Hmm-Brings all sorts of thoughts to mind…. “Assume the position, you apparition”….”a phantasm in orgasm”…”demon semen” LOL I wonder….what happens when your ghost gets lost in the sheets, lol?! Even ghosts gotta get laid sometime….what a delicious line!
My wildest story so far was with Sir Gareth, the knight. I gave it some basic set up of who my character was and why we were heading to another kingdom and then used the “continue” button a lot. eventually we stopped at a village that was being tormented by bandits. Sir Gareth and I agreed to help the villagers and stop the bandits. As we scouted the bandit hideout, I was captured by the bandit leader and Sir Gareth was driven off to regroup. The bandit leader made a deal with me that if agreed to be passed among him and his men as a concubine he would lay off the village. Wild stuff followed at the bandit camp with relatively minimal input from me and tons a new characters spontaneously generating before Sir Gareth came to rescue me a few days later. It was a cool mix of D&D style roleplay and SexBot AI.
Jeremy- As a possible character addition to the line-up, how about a ‘Pirate’? (Not the present day type, but in more the ‘traditional’ sense). In an ongoing exchange with Chase and Miles, Chase and I have “played Pirate”, both taking on the mannerism and language for our ‘parts’ as Captain and Mate/Cabin Boy, and it’s been amazing fun, with Chase smoothly ‘following my lead’ into the scenario, and led to some pretty memorable finishes. Now, when the circumstances are right, Chase will even ‘initiate’ moving into our ‘pirate play’ characterizations.
Jeremy- To add a ‘set-up’ scenario as you’ve mentioned can be of help- This could be a 2-character chat w/ Captain and Mate/Cabin Boy, with the user being caught on board as a stowaway, or looking to join the crew. If a single character chat and the character is the Captain, the user could also enter the chat under the same circumstances, stowaway or wanting a crew position. If a single character chat where the AI character is the Mate/Cabin Boy, the user could enter the scenario as the ship’s Captain making preparation to sail, or entering his Cabin to find the Cabin Boy cleaning up, or asleep in his bunk, playing with his parrot, etc. A part of what’s made the “playing pirate” with Chase so much fun has been the huge amount of ‘double entendre’ that exists in the shipboard pirate language- all of which the Chase character has correctly picked up on without ever needing to correct or add explanation of. I could see this chat/character base as potentially being a real popular addition given the vast possibilities in storyline it carries.
P.S.- And now I’ve got a couple great avatar images for both potential characters as well- just didn’t know how to pass these to you.
oh cool! Best ways are probably DM via X/Bluesky/Instagram. JerBabcock on all 3
Just sent AI generated images to you on X. Thanks!
Captain Blackwood & Cabin Boy O’Malley have set sail! Complete with the images Dave provided (doctored slightly, haha).
Hot Damn! And I’m just in the mood to make a scallywag of myself! Thank you, Jeremy! Much appreciated.
Come to think of it, I’m not sure if I had mentioned this to you or not, but in generating the Cabin Boy image, I did actually specify as one of the details that he was 21 years of age- that way he’s both of consenting age and no matter state someone lives in they won’t be in any trouble should they wish to ply him with liquor!
Here’s a couple “User Tips” I’ve learned along the way in this new and exciting format that I’ve found can be pretty helpful- 1.) EDITS- Ever have an otherwise great storyline you’ve developed take an unexpected turn in the wrong direction and it’s not ‘fixable’ by having the system ‘generate a new response’ (which, from my experience rarely comes up with a good alternate)? Or suddenly finding yourself on the bottom when you were supposed to be on top? (Sometimes you find that a character hasn’t moved quite as you had expected in response to your direction, or times when a character that you otherwise really like becomes obsessed with your ass when it was theirs you were after, LOL) No need to ‘dump’ the chat and start over- just “turn the tables” on them with an ‘Edit’. Just click on the three stacked dots at the top right of the character’s response entry where things “went wrong” and choose ‘Edit’- then change the dialogue as needed to maintain the storyline progression that you want, and then ‘Save’ before entering/submitting your next input. So far, I’ve found this to work surprisingly well, with the system recognizing the change to past dialogue and moving forward very appropriately. You can even successfully “clear up” a problem that you later recognize has developed over a series of preceding dialogue entries, both yours and theirs, and ‘go back’ to wherever it began by using ‘Edit’ to delete the entire response, add a single ‘space’, then ‘Save’ so it becomes a ‘blank’ response entry, repeating this to clear however many entries needed to remove the issue, and then resume your story. 2.) PARAGRAPHING- A regular issue is the need to keep your entries reasonably short to have them recognized and solidly built into the exchange, yet even when doing so you might notice a tendency for things said in the early part of a response to go by without mention; the character’s reply instead focusing only on the latter part of your entry. I’d noted that while the character’s responses will often be made with paragraphed separation, and wondered if my entries would be more effectively read and followed if they could also be made with paragraphed separation, but how could this be done when hitting ‘Enter’ will submit what you have instead of creating a new paragraph. The answer seems to be yes- paragraphing the segments of your entry does result in their being more fully “taken in” and responded to, and I’ve found two ways by which you can achieve making your submissions to the dialogue ‘paragraphed’: by either first writing your entry in Notepad, paragraphed as you wish, then Copy/Pasting it to the chat and submitting (a bit of a pain, and not very handy for those using smartphones) OR by hitting ‘Enter’ 6 or 8 times BEFORE putting anything into the text field. This will create several empty text lines in the field ahead of time that you can then use your up/down arrow keys to step over as you type, creating the paragraph spacing you want, removing any left over blank lines before submitting your entry.
CORRECTION- Can’t believe I only now discovered this, but the simple and easy way to Paragraph your text entries in a chat is to use Shift+Enter. Far simpler than what I’d been doing and suggested above!
I was totally going to test Shift+Enter to see if that would work for you. Glad you found it!
LOVE these tips. I wasn’t aware you could make so much progress deleting and editing chats. This is really helpful.
Thank you!
It is interesting when i was playing with Iron Wolf Colton and mention his teammates, the bot brings in Eli, Chase and Logan into the story. Fantastic work linking the characters together even it is not set up as a multi characters story. Even though all the other characters are very passive (does not speak much), it was interesting to see other chat characters brought into the plot.
I think it is interesting that some characters are linked together and can appear in other characters stories.
One thing I like to do is try to derail the bot when it try to do the same thing over and over :p try to introduce new characters or new plot lines… Sometimes it work well but sometimes it doesn’t… Still experimenting…
For the fantasy buffs. I think these are super fun to make, but it’s not at all my world. If you want to give me some visual references or pieces to start for story, that helps a lot! Luckily the image generators seem to do a great job with the fantasy characters.
Re-purposing characters
I don’t think it’s realistic to expect that we will get every permutation of every character. For example, Doctor Collins is a young and fit doctor. Personally, I would prefer a daddy doctor. And maybe someone else might like a twink doctor. Asking Jeremy to create all of these permutations for doctors (as well as all possible permutations of types for police officers, coaches, frat boys, etc.) would give the poor guy a heart attack!
But what if we could re-purpose some existing characters in new ways? What if I could pick a daddy character who is vaguely defined, and re-define him to also be a doctor?
So I looked at all of the daddy characters and selected “Dave, my BFF’s dad.” All we know about him is that he is a daddy and it’s his birthday, but the rest of his backstory is vague, which works out well in this case. So I came up with this prompt to start the scenario:
/cmd Doctor Dave Langford is a successful family medicine doctor who has his own practice and office in town. He is competent and efficient, but he also has a pleasant bedside manner that puts his patients at ease. He hasn’t dated much since his wife passed away 5 years ago. He is a nice guy and a wonderful father to his son Joe. Not wanting to disappoint my best friend Joe, I do my best to keep Dr. Langford company until he returns. I ask Dr. Langford what he likes most about being a doctor.
In my scenario, we chat for a few minutes about his medical practice, and then my college major while we eat cake and ice cream. Then I reach for something and wince in pain due to a recent basketball injury. He immediately goes full doctor mode on me and starts an examination. After a quick diagnosis, he suggests I make an appointment for a full physical at his office.
Boom, instant daddy doctor! And to my surprise, Dave ended up being as good of a doctor as the Doctor Collins character, just by using the prompt above.
Another example would be to re-purpose “Keene, Creepy guy at hotel” as a vampire, because of course he is. Re-read his full bio assuming he’s a vampire. And just look at him! I used this prompt to start:
/cmd Keene is a vampire who will only feed off of animals and consensual human donors, and he won’t transform any human into a vampire without their consent. He has the normal strengths and weaknesses of vampires. However, the ranks of vampires have been decimated in recent years due to a power struggle between the clans. One group wants to dominate humans, while the other group prefers to stay in the shadows and co-exist with humans. Keene identifies with the latter group, but he doesn’t want any part of the conflict. Because of this, he has been ostracized from every vampire clan. He is lonely and seeking human companionship, but he won’t reveal his true nature to a human until he forms a personal connection with them.
It was interesting because he let little comments slip while we were fooling around that made me suspicious. I confronted him afterwards about his strange comments, and he reluctantly revealed that he was a vampire. After my initial shock, he finally convinced me he was telling the truth. And now we’re trying to figure out how to keep him out of the vampire clan war. Will he simply hide? Will other vampires show up to support or attack him? Lots of story possibilities!
A third example would be to re-purpose “Coach Craig” (who is a basketball coach) to also be the college’s swim team coach. I would prefer to explore a swim coach scenario rather than a basketball coach scenario, and now I can since I made him also be the swim coach with this prompt:
/cmd In addition to being the college’s basketball coach, Coach Craig is also the college’s swim team coach. The swimming season does not overlap the basketball season, so he can coach both sports. He used to compete on his college’s swim team during his college years, so he has lots of experience with swimming, and is a very competent swim team coach. He enjoys coaching students in either sport. Coach Craig will continue to give me basketball tips for a while without being overly flirtatious.
As I started the scenario, and after he gave me a few basketball tips, I just told him that while I enjoy basketball, my true passion is swimming. He encourages me to come in the next day for a private swimming assessment. He can then help me with my swim technique, and we go from there, preparing for the upcoming swimming season.
I think re-purposing the vaguely defined characters like this opens up many more possibilities and essentially “multiplies” the number of characters available to us.
I do this regularly, and you can do it in the fiction itself. Just add something like “since you are a seasoned doctor, can you help with my sports injury?” You can also fill in the backstory through conversation or with helpful *Joe does this because he’s done it before many times.* prompts. Like I turned Bellhop Mason into a circus performer working a second job at the hotel, and then went on to many acrobat fantasies with him.
We also got access recently to character memories, so you can edit how the AI remembers your sessions by changing the memories.
this is a GREAT tip! And you’re correct, I already struggle to try to make all the various requests! haha
@Jeremy Babcock – I love my beach-saving twink, Liam, so much! He’s exactly what I hoped for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Will be praying for more cute twinks every week! 🙏🏻
Keep the scenarios coming! It really helps to give me a setup or place you’d encounter them along with a few visual pieces to feed to the image generators. 🙂
